Gov’t Adds Part of Bududa District on ‘Hard-to-Reach’ List

The Ministry of Public Service, in a letter dated 27th February 2025, officially designated part of Bududa District as a hard-to-reach area — a significant development aimed at enhancing service delivery in geographically isolated communities.

The designation follows persistent appeals by district leaders highlighting challenges such as difficult terrain, poor road access, and limited reach of essential services like health and education.

With this new status, affected areas in Bududa District are set to benefit from special government attention, including additional staffing, hardship allowances, and targeted development programs tailored to local needs.

District leaders have welcomed the move as a timely response that will help improve livelihoods and bridge long-standing service delivery gaps in the region.
